GREETING THE NEWEST CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA ON AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP DAY
More than 5,700 people have been invited to over 70 Australian citizenship ceremonies nationwide.
Australian Citizenship Day offers an opportunity to consider the significance and meaning of citizenship, a tie that binds all Australians together.
The Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, Andrew Giles, had the pleasure of attending a ceremony in his electorate of Scullin, in Melbourne’s North, in honour of Australian Citizenship Day.
The Minister took part in the ceremony with the City of Whittlesea council when over 150 new Australian citizens were formally welcomed into the neighbourhood.
TASMANIAN SKILLED MIGRATION STATE NOMINATION PROGRAM UPDATE
ELIGIBILITY CHECKER NOW AVAILABLE
The Migration Tasmania Skilled Nomination Eligibility Checker is now available.
This can be used by prospective applicants and their agents to determine whether they are eligible for Tasmanian nomination, seek the ideal nomination method, and discover any additional priority attributes they may possess.
Only eligible applicants with at least one gold or green priority attribute can express interest in nomination at this time under the Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination scheme.
In October, the application portal will be open to all qualified applicants.
Addition to Tasmanian Onshore Skilled Occupation List (TOSOL) – Hotel or Motel Manager
Accordingly, applicants who meet the requirements for this occupation and who have a skills assessment may be nominated for subclass 190 under the Tasmanian Skilled Employment pathway after serving in a similarly situated position there for a period of six months, or for subclass 491 after three months. Additionally, they can be eligible for additional priority qualities in other pathways.
INTERIM OPENING – COMMON REASONS FOR NOT BEING INVITED TO APPLY FOR TASMANIA SKILLED MIGRATION STATE NOMINATION
Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for one of the nomination pathways listed on the Migration Tasmania website and possess at least one of the gold or green attributes listed for that pathway in order to be considered for the current stage of the Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination programme.
Candidates who don’t match the minimal standards or have a green or gold attribute won’t be contacted or requested to apply for nomination.
Common reasons candidates have not been invited during this stage include Did not meet minimum eligibility requirements.
Tasmanian Skilled Graduate pathway – job-offer related to skills assessment or Tasmanian study. Incomplete Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and resumes.
Only skilled employment (ANZSCO skill levels 1-3) roles are eligible for gold or green attributes Skilled employment or business operation related to study.
Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles pathway ( Overseas applicants who do not have a job offer).
Candidates who meet the minimum requirements but do not have a gold or green attribute will be able to register interest on the Application gateway in October 2022.
Nomination allocation and usage (as at 19 September 2022) Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) visa:
Nominations – 225 of 2000 places used
Unfinalised nomination applications – 117 Invitations issued – 225
Skilled Work Regional (subclass 491) visa: Nominations – 250 of 1350 places used
Unfinalised nomination applications – 41
Invitation Issued (Not Including OSOP Pathway) – 117
OSOP pathway invitations issued – 441
