SKILLED & BUSINESS MIGRATION

The South Australian Government has released an updated skilled occupation list, describing the skills it intends to fill through international talent as well as migrants already living and working in South Australia, and the 2022–23 General Skilled Migration (GSM) programme is now open.

The list is one of the most comprehensive in the country, and skilled immigrants, including our very talented overseas graduates, are eligible to apply for state nomination in more than 500 different professions.

The Safe Haven Enterprise visa (SHEV), which allows humanitarian migrants to enter South Australia, is also expected to benefit from more flexible paths to permanent residence.

Nominations for skilled migrants will receive priority under the 2022–2023 Skilled Migration Program: With experience in growing fields like hi-tech/digital, health and life sciences, green energy, defence, space, and trades, or

who can contribute their skills to those fields and others with in-demand backgrounds like health, ICT, education, engineering, agribusiness, and trades.

The state’s priority is to nominate both skilled and experienced migrants who are already residing and working in South Australia—to retain those with in-demand skills as well as overseas migrants who can fill critical shortages
